Is My Loft Suitable For Conversion?
This is the first question we will answer during the our site visit. The good news is that most houses are suitable for a loft conversion although you should be aware that some lofts are easier to convert than others, and it all depends on what you have in mind and probably more importantly what your budget is.
One of the most important element is the roof height. If you have a traditional roof (rafters form an ‘M’ shape) the critical measurement is a minimum height of 2.2 metres at its highest point. If you have a modern roof (trusses form a ‘W’ shape) the critical measurement is a minimum height of 2.4 metres at its highest point.
